Instant Pot Chocolate Cake

This is an easy and amazing chocolate cake made in the Instant Pot.

  1. In a medium bowl mix all dry ingredients together. Set aside.
  2. In a separate bowl cream butter and sugar together. Add egg and mix until fluffy.
  3. Add water and lemon juice and mix until incorporated.
  4. Add ½ of the dry mixture and mix well.
  5. Add milk and mix gently until incorporated.
  6. Add remaining flour mixture and mix until well blended. A few small lumps are ok in the batter. Pour batter into a well greased 6-inch baking dish.
  7. Place trivet in the bottom of instant and add 2 cups of water to the bottom.
  8. Cover baking dish with a paper towel followed by foil. Lower Baking dish on to trivet using a foil sling.
  9. Lock lid and cook on manual for 40 minutes. Allow natural pressure release.
  10. Remove lid and remove baking dish using foil sling. The cake should be pulled away from sides of dish slightly. This indicates it is done, as well as a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  11. Allow cooling before serving.
