We all know using cloth diapers will save you money over the course of time your child is in diapers, but the startup cost can be killer! With these tips, you can cut that start up cost in at least half if not more.
12 Ways to Score Free or Really Cheap Cloth Diapers
Contact Companies – Much like emailing for coupons email the cloth diaper companies, give feedback, tell them what you like and what you don't and most of them will be more than willing to send you one freebie in exchange. Just make sure to be nice and be honest.
Buy Used – This is the best way to save money on cloth diapers check places like Craigslist and Ebay also the Facebook buy and sell groups online. Locally check your local thrift store and consignment shops. Also, check your favorite online cloth diaper forums most of them have a buy and sell forum where you can buy from other members. Pay via PayPal and be covered!
Borrow – If you have a friend who has some but is in between children ask if you can borrow them, just make sure if they have a kid before you are done to give them back and get your own!
Use Amazon Gift Cards – You can earn free Amazon Gift Cards to buy cloth diapers. I listed 45 Ways to Earn Amazon Gift Cards and then I shared my system to earn $210 or More a Month in Amazon Gift Cards. Amazon has a ton of cloth diapers to choose from and even some value packs.
Online Deals – You can find some great online deals, Diaper Junction has an excellent rewards program and even offers a 30-day test drive of most of the brands they offer. Cottonbabies is another one to watch for great sale. Diapers.com also has great deals and offers 15% off your first purchase.
Make Your Own – If you Google ‘Cloth Diaper Patterns' There are hundreds of them you can get and most are free, and you can make your own. You will need to have some sewing skills…. unlike me 🙁
Ask for Them – This one is a no brainer, put them on your wishlist or baby registry and put the word out to friends, family, and co-workers that you are looking for Cloth Diapers.
Sell Back When You're Done With Them – Cloth diapers hold their value really well. So when you're done, you can recoup your value and sell them back!
Free for Shipping – You can get free diapers, and all you have to do is pay for shipping. You can do this on the Diaper Swappers forum, they have a Free for Shipping forum. You need to check this regularly to be the first to claim the ‘freebies.'
Lottos – Diaper Swappers has a lottos section as well. This is where anyone who is interested in the free cloth diapers comments on the thread and the poster picks from someone from the thread.
Free with Purchase – Sites like Kelly’s Closet often give away cloth diapers with purchase on their site.
