WHO is The Frugal Navy Wife?
The Frugal Navy Wife run by Danielle and Marissa. They started out by working together and have become best friends, road trip buddies, and each other’s no judge zone.

Meet Marissa
Marissa is a 30 something work from home Wife and Mom to 4 kids ranging in age from 7 – preteen ( pray for her), 2 cats & 2 dogs. She lives in the Phoenix metro area but her family is originally from Pennsylvania. She is very active with her kids who all do some sort of sport so they are always on the go. Her entire childhood she grew up moving from Air Force base to Air Force Base, every 3.5 years just about as her father served 22 years active duty. Living in places from coast to coast ( Arizona, Nevada, South Carolina, North Dakota, Idaho). She has a sense of adventure and hates to be bored. However, with a large family being frugal is a must.
She joined the Frugal Navy Wife team in 2017 as an editor, social media manager, and graphics gal. Since then she has taken on more and more tasks becoming a content creator, content planner, and brainstorming new ways to be frugal while having fun.
Marissa does not budget for Christmas shopping. You read that right, she does NOT budget anything for Christmas shopping – instead, she uses rebate apps to pay for it all every year. Yes, all four kids get a Christmas each year based on rebate app cashouts.
She has a new found love for Virtual Races. Just like a regular 5k, half marathons and full marathons just all done at her own pace. Currently, she has finished 9 races which tally up to over 300 miles. She has a handful of races in the queue and is looking forward to adding more.
Fun Facts about Marissa

Meet Danielle
I’m Danielle, I started the Frugal Navy Wife. I love writing and sharing how to save money, my homeschool woes, and things like my Worst Mommy Moment! I am in my early thirties. I am a mom, homeschool teacher, book worm, frugal money saver, a gypsy at heart, history and National Park Lover, former navy wife, and former breastfeeding mom.
I homeschool my kids, menu plan, do all the family shopping (once a month for $200 a month!) I love to read in what little spare time I have but normally a hot bath and time to relax take over before reading! I currently live in Florida and travel more often than not! I have 5 kids one boy age 11 and 4 girls ages 10, 7, 5, and 3!

More about me. Let’s see I never know what to say here! I grew up in Florida, lived in the same town my whole life grew up on a farm until the time I was 13 until we moved into town. Once I turned 18 I busted out and have since lived in Ohio, Kentucky (and back to FL) Virginia then met hubby had my son, and moved to Maryland had 2 more girls and then to Pennsylvania where we had kid #4, a 3rd girl!
Once my husband got out of the Navy we didn’t know where to settle down so we decided to travel some too. We sold everything moved into an RV and traveled the country from August 2015 until 2017. In 2017 we welcomed our 5th child into the world. She was born in Florida! I have since been making plans to settle down in East Tennessee, but I haven’t stopped traveling!
You can follow my adventures on Our Roaming Hearts “I’ve got a gypsy soul to blame and I was born for leaving….” (name that song!)

Why do I write The Frugal Navy Wife
We struggled as a family on and E4 income. I couldn’t get a job that covered the childcare expenses because we were moving every year or two. This was back before the big move to help military spouses.
So I stayed home with the kids and made it my mission to make our money go as far as possible. During our first deployment, I paid off one of our cars.
By the time our 3rd kid came around we were debt-free but had outgrown military housing and made the scary move to live out in town. So I stretched every penny. This is also the time the site transitioned away from deals so I was able to write more about every money-saving thing I found.
Then I started dipping into ways to make money and this is about the time my post 45+ Ways to Earn Amazon Gift Cards for Free! took off. I made the scary jump of making my site business and haven’t looked back.

Fun Facts About Danielle
I once wanted to be one of the animal trainers at Sea World.
I traveled the East Coast with my Grandparents during summer vacation growing up.
I grew up in Florida but I’m not a fan of the beach.
I have a dog we rescued from an abusive home. He’s weird and funny.
The dog’s name is Cash, as in Johnny Cash.
I always wanted a big family.
Backstreet Boys vs. NSYNC? I’m a BSB girl here.
Coke or Pepsi? Coke (used to be a Pepsi girl!)
Fall is my favorite season, but I don’t like Pumpkin Spice coffee.
But I do LOVE coffee!

Fun Facts about The Frugal Navy Wife
The Frugal Navy Wife was started in June of 2010.
The site started as a blog where Danielle shared her diaper deals because she got tired of repeating the deals to friends and family 20+ times a week. (Sorry Guys!) They shared it and it quickly grew.
We transitioned from a deal and couponing site slowly by adding in recipes. We ditched the deals and coupons completely in 2013.
We have attended 4 Blog conferences and 3 homeschool conferences.
We have more post ideas then we have time to write edit and publish! Seriously over 500 on the spreadsheet and we add more weekly!

About The Frugal Navy Wife:
The Frugal Navy Wife was started in June of 2010 as a way to show friends and family how to save money. It took off fast as they shared it with their family and friends and so on. We never would have dreamed we would be as big as we are today. Our goals are to bring readers ways to save money from all aspects of life so just about anyone can get a great deal.
We are a frugal living site. Featuring ways to save money on everything from food and clothes, to your home and bills to a vacation or a special splurge like that coach bag you’ve been eying up. Ways to save on home decor, recipes and utilities, ways to budget and more!
We are also a homeschool family and blog about great homeschool deals and products. I also share my homeschooling experiences good or bad!
While The Frugal Navy Wife was started by a Navy Wife we are NOT an exclusive military only website, we post for everyone, military, civilian families, single parents, newlyweds, the single person to grandparents and even your pets!
As you can see, TFNW has the reach that you need to get the word out about your product or service and we love working with new or tried and true companies! We also have a network of other frugal living websites that we work with to cross promote; effectively reaching over 250,000 people at once at no extra cost to you! How awesome is that?!

Hello! Can I subscribe to your email newsletter if you have one? I would like to remember about this page, and how to find it again! I also want to tell my friends about it. I have an IPad, no computer, and no smart phone, so I lose everything on my screen unless I am signed up somehow. Thank you!
I tried your recipe for the loaded baked potato soup a few weeks ago. We loved it so much I was going to make it again. I can no longer find the recipe and I didn’t write it down. Would you mind sharing it with me?
Yes the recipe can be found here: http://www.thefrugalnavywife.com/loaded-baked-potato-soup-recipe/
It’s one of my favorites too 😉

Hello,
My name is Megan and I am with a company called LiveShopper. We are a mobile app offering out users brand specific discounts & bounce backs. We also have tasks available for chances at Amazon.com codes. We also have tasks that pay immediately, from time to time. We are looking to create brand awareness and feel like your viewers are the ideal group that would find benefit in our mobile app. When could we talk to see if a collaboration would work for both of us?
I look forward to continuing this conversation soon.
Thanks so much!
Megan
