When thinking about going wine tasting, Napa Valley is on the top of most people’s lists. In years past it wasn’t uncommon to find free tastings and free winery tours available. Those days have passed unfortunately as spending a day wine tasting in Napa is anything but cheap. The best way to keep the costs down is to combine a tour with your wine tastings. The days of learning about the winemaking process and seeing behind the scenes with the winemaker for free are long gone. Here is a guide to help you navigate cheap wine tastings in Napa Valley – well, as cheap as we can find!
Cheap Wine Tasting in Napa Valley
Hess Collection: Hess has great wines, especially their Chardonnay that are available at excellent price points. Their grounds are breathtakingly beautiful and access to the Hess Museum is free every day. Here is a coupon for a 2-for-1 wine tasting M-F. They also offer complimentary winery tours daily and their wine tastings are incredibly affordable. Cost: $15
Frog's Leap: Hard to believe that an old frog farm can become a well-known winery! At Frog’s Leap winery they offer a tour of their farm and you start out with vino and laughter, and the best part is you get to try more wines along the way. It is one of the best tours in Napa and is a great way to start out the day wine tasting. Cost: $20
Andretti Winery: Are you a big racing fan? Did you know that the incredible race car driver Mario Andretti has a vineyard in Napa? Get a Two for One tasting and check out the wines and racing history. They have a 42-acre estate, and you can enjoy their wines and learn a little racing history to boot. Chandon: Sparkling wine lovers rejoice daily when they visit Chandon. This vineyard has some of the best bubbly on the market and they have a coupon for you to use for your visit too! They have a beautiful terrace where you can have lunch or sip a number of their sparkling wines. This coupon gives you 20% off and a complimentary tasting of the Rose! This app also helps you find great discounts at other wineries! Cost: $20
Markham Vineyards: Markham is known for having a stellar Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. If you like red wines, you must make a stop into this vineyard. Their stone building is 130 years old and is an excellent space to spend an afternoon. Winery tours are available by appointment only and come with a wine tasting for $35. Their wine tastings are $25 which makes this coupon super awesome! Cost: $25
Wine tasting in Napa Valley is never going to be on the cheap side in the near future. With their coupons, traveling in the off season, and visiting the valley during the week you are sure to get a better bang for your buck. Cheers!
