Have you ever wondered if you should get life insurance? As a new parent, it isn’t a matter of if you need it, but when you need it. When you welcome that new life into your life, it’s time to consider getting life insurance ASAP! Waiting isn’t even an option.
#1. Your child is depending on you financially – It’s so hard to even think about life insurance when you are trying to enjoy that little one. However, the reality is that your child is depending on you financially. If something were to happen, you need to know your child is taken of financially. There are lots of things that babies and kids need coverage for. Shelter, food, extracurricular activities, medical bills, and so much more!
#2. Peace of mind – One thing that is always on a new parent’s mind is “what if.” It’s so nice to know that you don’t have to worry about that with life insurance. Sure, no one wants to leave behind a little one. However, knowing you took care of things is so important and freeing.
#3. Both parents need coverage – Most families only insure the person who is working, but both parents need to be insured. When you stop and think about how much it takes to raise a child, you’ll want both parents to be covered. A stay at home parent needs coverage, just as much as the working parent.
#4. The cost is minimal – Life insurance isn’t as expensive as you might think. In fact, it’s affordable and a small price to pay for such an important thing in life. Know that getting life insurance won’t break the bank, especially when you go a route you can afford. Think about the small price you’re paying for such large outcome.
#5. Delaying means it won’t happen – Procrastination isn’t something you want to take out on life insurance. The reason people say you need life insurance now is because the longer you wait, the less likely you are to get it. At that point, it may be too late. You need life insurance now, so you don’t delay and forget.
Don’t feel as though life insurance is a scam. It’s an essential part of raising tiny humans who may need your financial help someday. Life insurance can be you just need to go with the right company.

I am a mom to 5 kids, homeschool mom, blogger, social media junkie, Frugalista, Book Worm, and Closet Want-to-be Chef. We are a Roadschool family (homeschooling on the road while traveling fulltime).
I grew up learning ways to save from my mom and grandma. I started my own coupon journey when my first child was born in 2009 and started the blog on 2010 when baby #2 was born to share my tips with everyone who kept asking about how I was getting diapers for $1 a pack!
