One of my favorite things about being a Military Family is supporting companies that support us. Something really cool I want to talk about is Cracker Barrel and their partnership with Operation Homefront, called Operation Rocker. This post is unique because I want to brag on Cracker Barrel and their awesome contribution for a minute.
In supporting our troops, I decided to make a great DIY gift for the kids’ grandmas. It seemed even more fitting since we just had baby number 5!
Our DIY was something simple yet fun and something I know they will treasure forever. We did each kids hand print on the chair, with the exception of the baby who was only 5 weeks old, we did her foot print. We did each kid in their favorite color and added the data and their names to the chair.
So like I said, very simple. We put paint on a paper plate, put their hand in it and put it on each rocking chair. The hardest part is getting young kids to put their hand down then lift straight up and not move! The pink one had 6 fingers at one point!
Then we used a UV resistant clear sealing spray to coat the paint several times to make sure the paint stays put and the rock chairs remain a treasured memory for years to come.
Now a bit more about Cracker Barrel’s awesome drive to support military families through Operation Rocker
Introducing Operation Rocker
To support Operation Homefront’s mission of building strong, stable and secure military families, Cracker Barrel will donate a rocking chair to Operation Homefront for every adult rocker purchased on Cracker Barrel’s website now through Labor Day.
Homes on the Homefront
The rockers will support Operation Homefront programs including Homes on the Homefront, which places deserving U.S. service members, veterans and their families in mortgage-free homes.Founded in 2002, Operation Homefront is a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to build strong, stable, and secure military families so that they can thrive – not simply struggle to get by – in the communities they have worked so hard to protect.
Both Operation Homefront and Cracker Barrel have been very military focused and have supported military families constantly. Operation Rocker is awesome and we’re excited to be a part of it.
Being a military family has its perks, especially when you get to work with awesome brands like Cracker Barrel. Do you eat at Cracker Barrel? What’s your favorite part? Follow #operationrocker for even more info!
I received the above product from Cracker Barrel to conduct my post. All opinions remain my own.
I am a mom to 5 kids, homeschool mom, blogger, social media junkie, Frugalista, Book Worm, and Closet Want-to-be Chef. We are a Roadschool family (homeschooling on the road while traveling fulltime).
I grew up learning ways to save from my mom and grandma. I started my own coupon journey when my first child was born in 2009 and started the blog on 2010 when baby #2 was born to share my tips with everyone who kept asking about how I was getting diapers for $1 a pack!
