When you think of a Florida vacation I bet you are thinking about theme parks, thrill rides, and a lot of go-go-go. To me, that really isn't a vacation. Now I grew up in Florida I get the thrill of the theme parks but don't make that your WHOLE vacation. Take some time to relax and enjoy the beautiful state! Head out to Santa Rosa County.
The Hidden Gem of Your Florida Vacation Santa Rosa County
This hidden gem is just east of Pensacola Florida. Many people head to Pensacola for vacation. The area is beautiful and plenty to see and do, but it is also crowded. We love visiting the area because it's also the home base of the school we use to homeschool, our kids and the kids loving visiting the actual campus and meeting the teachers they have been working with. What we don't love is the crowd in the Pensacola area
If you head just 10 minutes east, and you are in Santa Rosa County. This is the perfect spot for a vacation with all the perks of any Florida beach vacation minus the crazy crowds! The beaches aren't packed, and you can really relax.
When my family and I travel one of our favorite things to do is to eat at mom and pop restaurants. We don't like to eat at the chain places you can eat at back home. We are foodies and love to try local food and new places. Plus we love supporting families and not corporations when we can.
There are several main streets you can walk and enjoy mom and pop specialty shops, take in the weather and some fantastic entertainment.
More want even more outdoor activities to do? Santa Rosa County has you covered!
Things to do:
- Diving, Snorkeling
- Biking, hiking

- Camping, Zip-lining
- Gulf Breeze Zoo
- Paddle-boarding
- much much more!
We love taking our RV down to the Navarre Beach area and enjoying the beautiful beaches. I mean really when you have views from your RV like the one above? You just can't beat that with any hotel.
