I was hosted for the Military Weekend at Westgate Resorts in Orlando to conduct my review. All opinions remain my own.
We were recently invited to a weekend at Westgate Resorts for Military Weekend in 2019. This was an amazing weekend, packed full of fun events. When we arrived on Friday, and there were so many events planned for the weekend, I got really excited!
What a Westgate Resorts Military Weekend Includes
Friday
On Friday, when we got to the resort, we were able to check in. We got to stay in one of the villas and it was bigger than my first apartment!
From there, we were able to enjoy miniature golf, paddle boats, bicycles, and sports equipment. We were able to head to the Activities Center and enjoy these activities all weekend.
Saturday
This day was fun too because we were able to explore the area. At the start of the day, we wore our Red, White, and Blue and attended the Red, White, and Blue 5K. We had a ton of fun running the 5K. This was one of the kids’ first running events and I know they had a great time.
“Grateful American” A Conversation with Actor Gary Sinise* was the next event that we attended this weekend and it was great. Just being able to hear from Gary Sinise was something we don’t get to do every day. We were able to walk away and learn a lot.
At 10 AM on Saturday, we were invited to participate in the field day, which the kids loved being active. This was at The Baseball Diamond and it went from 10 A.M. to 3 P.M. There were tons of activities, games, and competitions were fun! They got all sort of little toys and prizes and were entered into several raffles and they even won one of them!
One of the kids’ favorite activities was Shipwreck Water Park. We were able to buy concessions for cheap too. The kids LOVED the water park and it’s something I’d like to do again.
Later in the day, we were able to see an Outdoor Concert Featuring Gary Sinise & Lt. Dan Band with special guest Grammy-winner Lee Greenwood. Jamming out to some of our favorite music and eating complimentary hotdogs, hamburgers, water, and pop was awesome! The kids didn’t want to leave.
Sunday
The next day, we woke up and had a Mother’s Day brunch at Draft’s Sports Bar & Grill. The brunch was delicious and my kids were super well behaved. Nothing like a good breakfast to get you started for the day.
We took the time to check out Westgate Villas. I was able to walk around with the kids and check out all the amenities they have to offer. I’d suggest staying at Westgate Villas or any of Westgate’s great military discount hotels if you ever get the chance.
For the rest of the day, on Sunday, we headed to SeaWorld. My kids had the best time at SeaWorld. I plan on updating you on how that went!
