One thing I have found is if you can make a dish somewhat sweet you can get my kids to eat things they normally don't, like Pork Chops! That is why I am these brown sugar glazed garlic pork chops. Not only that it is easy and fast to cook!
Brown Sugar Glazed Garlic Pork Chops
Ok funny story. Hubby tried to make this one night when I was pregnant and not feeling well. He calls from the kitchen “Hey I think we are out of paprika”. Knowing I just bought some I call back “no it's the red stuff” he says he found it and keeps cooking. come dinner time we served the kids first and my son took a bite and started crying and it was hot and he didn't want it anymore and refused to eat. we didn't understand until I went to take a bite. He had ended up using cayenne pepper instead of paprika because it was red…. Needless to say we ended up eating box mac and cheese that night. Moral of the story, read the labels!
Ok on to the recipe you will love it!
- 4-5 boneless, pork chops
- ¼ cup homemade brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper with a little bit of olive oil.
Rub your sugar/spice mix on both sides of each pork chop, using all of the spice mix.
Heat the rest of the olive oil in a skillet over medium/high heat.
After the oil is hot, cook the pork chops for about 5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Enjoy!
We loved these with my 7up biscuits and bacon green beans!

These pork chops were delicious! I used the rub on both sides of the chops, browned both sides of the chops in a cast iron skillet for 1-2 minutes, then baked them in oven for 20 minutes. They were done to perfection. Thanks for the recipe. Definitely a keeper.

I made this and it was a hit. I seasoned the meat with garlic salt and pepper before rubbing with mixture. Then seared for 1-2 min in hot skillet and baked at 400 for 35 min or so. Made with sweet potatoes with brown sugar and cinnamon that were roasted in oven. My boys loved it!
