Welp, we did it we are knee deep in the home buying process. Ok by the time you read this we are probably neck deep or JUST closed. Let me explain.

Florida Farmhouse – The Home Buying Process
So we found a house we really liked. It was the 3rd house we looked at. But we hesitated. It was near the Interstate. Really Near. Like we could hear it from the backyard near. See lights from cars at night near.
But we loved the house. LOVED the house. We toyed over it then finally go to put in an offer only to find out they accepted an offer, 12 hours earlier. 12 hours. Damn.
So another day of house hunting. We lined up 4 houses and the last one was it. It not only had what we were looking for it was decorated in the style we wanted.
This is a sign, right?

We put in an offer. Back and forth a bit. Then it was accepted. We are under contract.
Since we are doing a VA loan we have a few more hoops to jump through.
We pay our escrow. Then it begins.
Home Inspections. Check.
Termite inspection. Check.
Sewer Inspection. Check
We will be on a well for water hence the sewer inspection. There is a little termite damage but one door no biggie seller is fixing it. We find a bit of water damage on the corner of the garage. Looks like a few loose shingles.
Roof Estimate. Check.
Sellers are fixing that too.
Appraisal. Check.
VA approves!

Now let's talk about the bank. They seem to want so many documents then the blood of my first grandchild and after all that, they won't even give us a soft or hard yes until DAYS before closing.
We close the end of March. We don't know until DAYS before. We are actually closing TOMORROW! WHOOT WHOOT!!
All I can say is W.T.F.
Dealing with the bank the first week of March was tiring. It was stressful. It almost made me give up. But it was worth it.
Once all that was done the next wave kicked in. We had to get homeowners insurance even though we STILL don't have a hard yes or no on our loan! This makes me very uneasy. I won't lie.
