School is here for many of us. We’re all floundering around trying to make back to school easier for everyone. The truth is that the transition is never easy on anyone, but there are some things you can do.
Prepare your kids
It’s okay to let your kids know what is going on. Let them know the schedule and how things are going to go. My kids always do much better when I prepare them and let them know what’s happening. Some kids don’t do well with this, but for the majority, it works. Kids can digest things better when they are better prepared.
Go easy on your kids
During the first week, your kids may forget their homework or they may complain a little bit. Show them a little grace and they will get into their new schedule in no time. I think as parents, it’s important to not freak out and to show our kids our softer side, especially when they are getting used to new things.
Make things simple
The biggest issue for back to school season is that it is so much at one time. Keep things as simple as possible. Don’t get all crazy with signing your kids up for every sport under the sun. I like to ease my kids into back to school programs. Too much at one time can be hard on the brain. Besides, simpler is always better!
Check out Boston Market
One of my favorite parts of back to school season is getting help from places like Boston Market. I’m a busy mom and making dinner after school is not something I always look forward to. To make back to school easier on everyone, you will find us taking advantage of Boston Market’s $1.99 Family Meal deal.
This is such a good deal because you get a whole rotisserie chicken for only $1.99 with the purchase of any Family Meal. These Boston Market Family Meals can feed families of 4+ with the Rotisserie Chicken, Roasted Turkey, BBQ Ribs or home style Meatloaf, with sides and cornbread.
You can grab the $1.99 fresh, never frozen Boston Market whole rotisserie chicken and have an additional meal during the week. My mouth is watering just thinking of how delicious their chicken is. Home style meals are what my kids love and that’s what I’m aiming to give them!
