This post is sponsored by Dollar General but all opinions are mine as a mom of 5 sending kids back to school!
Back to school is right around the corner, whether we choose to believe it or not. The summer has flown by and it’s time to start thinking about going back to school. Kids always seem to need a lot for back to school, so there is no better time to prepare for this transition. Here are some tips to help prepare for back to school.
How We Prepare for Back to School with Dollar General
#1. Start shopping early
You don’t have to wait for those back to school commercials to start shopping for back to school. My best advice for preparing for back to school is to start shopping early. Start shopping as soon as school ends.
#2. Start buying things on sale
I know that some people like to buy items all at once. However, I like to buy items on sale. I start buying items on sale as soon as I can. If you head to the Dollar General website and use the teacher’s list feature. This means that parents can find their child’s supply list by just entering their zip code to find their school.
#3. Look for special deals
One of my favorite reasons for back to school shopping are all the special deals available. Dollar General has a deal where you can Spend $15 and Save $5” on school supplies including backpacks, lunch kits, folders, glue, pens, pencils, markers and more. You should use this offer and save money on back to school items, you won’t regret it.
Dollar General also offers a 20% OFF Teacher’s Discount to allow a teacher to stock up their classrooms!
#4. Back to school lunch shopping
Can you tell that Dollar General is a place we shop often when it comes to back to school shopping? One other area we utilize Dollar General for back to school shopping is with our lunches. There are so many awesome lunch items you can pick up from DG.
Make sure you finish out the summer strong with the DG Literacy Foundation. There are a ton of learning items available on the DG Literacy Foundation. Nothing is better than hearing your kids read and learn. Thanks to DG, they can do both.
This is very important to us as reading inspired my love for travel growing up. I was able to learn so much and visit many places and never leave my window seat! Giving a child the gift to love reading is a gift that will last a life time.
