5 Tips to Help Keep Kids Focused on School Work
5 Tips to Help Keep Kids Focus on School Work It’s no secret kids have a lot of energy. I mean really where do they get it all from? My theory? They siphon it from us while we sleep! Because I wake up more tired than when I went to bed! The problem kids get into with all this energy is that it can make it hard for them to focus on something very long. This is a problem when kids are trying to do school work. Parents struggle with getting their kids to focus just long enough to grasp a new concept all the time. Being we homeschool I see it more often than not, the fidgeting the wanting to take a break and the wondering glances. So here are a few tips to help with this problem weather at school, at home school or during homework time. Set up a routine. When kids know what to … [Read more...]
A House for Hermit Crab Unit Study Art Project
A House for Hermit Crab Unit Study Art Project This art project for A House for Hermit Crab took on a life of its own as a multi-media and even multi-sensory ,collage project. Digging around in the art supply stash for items to create the creatures in the book A House for Hermit Crab gave us a wide variety textures to work with and that made it fun and pretty too! I set out a divided tray ( from Dollar Tree) with a variety of supplies to make our picture, the kids love choosing their own items to create with, using the tray keeps it somewhat tidy and organized We started by “painting” glue on the bottom of our blue construction paper, the kids then sprinkled clean play on the glue to create a mini beach for our crab. We used a paper plate for our crab shell, I love how … [Read more...]
