Moving from place to place is something I have experienced several times in my childhood and my adulthood. When you move a lot, it can be hard to make your house feel like a home. You are always wondering when you will have to start packing up again. Use this tips to help your house feel more like a home.
#1. Make it your own
No matter how long you are going to be in a home, learn to make it your own. You do not have to do anything permanent to the home to make it your own. Hanging up pictures and placing home décor can be a big step in making it your own. Vibrant colors and pictures of your family are a great start to making your home “your own.”
#2. Keep it cozy
One of my favorite parts of “home” is making it cozy. A nice living room rug or a cozy lamp can help turn any home into a cozy one. Curling up with a good book in a cozy corner is sure to make you feel right at home!
#3. Small changes are everything
I think the best thing about making a house feel like a home is that you can take your time. You don’t have to go out and buy a bunch of stuff at once. You can slowly make changes to help make this happen. You don’t have to spend a fortune and it’s all about the little things. Start someplace simple, like in the bathroom, to help you make your house feel like a home.
#4. Use CORT to help make your house a home
I love CORT and their mission to help people make their house a home. CORT is a company that allows you to rent furniture. This is perfect for the family who moves around a lot and just needs furniture for a short period of time. It’s super convenient, especially for military families, because it’s there when you need it and gone when you don’t. I also envision less hassle when I’m trying to make my house into a home because I can get my furniture all from one convenient place.
Best of all CORT has Military packages and know what it means to have a military life so they are super easy to work with on moves and transfers!
The next time you are making a big move, make sure to check out CORT! Perhaps making your new house into a home won’t be so difficult next time. Follow my tips and use CORT Furniture Rental to make life super easy this next time around.
