I'm not a fan of the pumpkin spice latte (does this mean I'm out of the club?!) but I love just any pumpkin spice recipe that includes food. I haven't really jumped on the pumpkin spice drink train. That includes this pumpkin whoopie pies recipe. It's AH-MAZE-ING.
Pumpkin Spice Recipe – How to Make Pumpkin Whoopie Pies Recipe
Yes, you read it right I'm not a fan of the pumpkin spice latte. I'm more of a salted caramel girl. Apparently, my Instagram followers agree with me and my addiction as well. I have even converted hubby! My addiction started with the pumpkin pancakes at IHOP and grew from there!
Ok, so we know I am ALL about easy meals and this recipe while not technically a meal (while it could be) it is very easy to make! Mix, bake, mix, spread, eat. See easy! Oh, I know you need real directions for this pumpkin whoopie pies recipe so here you!
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
4 tablespoons butter, softened
1/3 cup pumpkin puree
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
3 cups powdered sugar
chopped walnuts
Whoopie Pie Directions
First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees, then line a baking sheet with parchment paper or use the silicone baking mats.
Next, in a medium in a mixing bowl, add in the cake mix, water, oil, eggs, and pudding, then mix well.
Then bake for 10-12 minutes or until set and center is no longer jiggly (wiggly, jiggly). Then cool completely before frosting.
Frosting Directions
Now to make the yummy frosting! Start by beating cream cheese and butter together in a bowl. Add in the pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice then mix well. Then beat in sugar, one cup at a time.
Once done make sure to refrigerate until you are ready to use.
To Assemble Whoopie Pies
Spread frosting onto the flat side of one pie.
Top with the top of the pie and dip edges into the walnuts or sprinkle on the edges. Repeat until all whoopie pies are finished.
This makes about 15 whoopie pies that are about 4″ each.

Ingredients
- 1 box spice cake mix
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup oil
- 3 eggs
- 1 box vanilla pudding mix

Whoopie Pie Directions
- Preheat oven to 350. Line a baking sheet with parchment.
- In a mixing bowl, add cake mix, water, oil, eggs and pudding. Mix well.
- Using a 2 tablespoon size portion scoop, place dough onto prepared baking pan and gently spread it out to a 3" circle.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until set and center is no longer jiggly. Cool completely before frosting.
Frosting Directions:
- Beat cream cheese and butter together in a bowl. Add pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice and mix well. Beat in sugar, one cup at a time. Refrigerate until ready to use.
To Assemble Whoopie Pies
