Fall is here and it's not just for us humans! Our furbabies can celebrate too! My dog always wants to soak up the last of the warm weather by sunning himself in the yard. Banfield has asked me to share some things I enjoy doing with my fur baby!
We love going for walks and enjoying the weather and the tree colors. Ok really I don't know if he enjoys the tree colors I think he is just looking for a squirrel to chase but I can pretend!
I also love enjoying all things pumpkin during fall! I share this love with my dog buy getting him some pumpkin dog treats. I assume he likes them he hasn't told me any different and he scarfs them down just as fast!
With all the outdoor activities it's important to remember to have your pets treated for Heartworms. Heartworm disease is spread by infected mosquitoes, is potentially fatal but is also very preventable. Just one bite from one infected mosquito can transmit potentially fatal heartworm disease.
It's always in the back of my mind! I know pets need annual heartworm tests and year-round prevention to be safe. So I take my fur-baby to PetSmart's Banfield Pet Hospital®, they use ProHeart6®, it is an easy and convenient way to keep dogs protected. ProHeart6® is a 6 month injectable heartworm product. Plus I can get Banfield’s Optimum Wellness Plan® help to support overall pet health, and specifically heartworm prevention, by offering HW preventives, including ProHeart6®, as add-ons to the plans.
So I can go in once every 6 months and I know my baby is safe for another 6 month. I plan it the same months I need to get my wedding rings inspected for their warranty and make a day of it! After getting poked my big baby isn't too fond of me, heck he starts fighting me the second we walk into the vet office but I bribe him with treats after as soon again I'm back in his good graces…. until i Try to sneak a bag of chips to myself!
