I love this time of year. Grilling out, watching kids play at night, and as things get warmer watching kids catch fire flying from the porch. All this is done with a nice refreshing drink in hand. One of our family favorites is Lemonade. I LOVE strawberry lemonade, I like it fresh and sometimes frozen. Here is my favorite recipe!
Homemade Strawberry Lemonade
This recipe is easy and refreshing, at the bottom I give you a few different ideas or add a twist to it!
Strawberry Lemonade Beverage Ingredients –
2 C. of freshly squeezed lemon juice (approximately 15 lemons)
1 C. of strawberries, sliced or diced + a few extra for garnish
1 ½ C. sugar
5 C. cold water
Directions –
#1. Squeeze your lemons and set aside the lemon juice in a large pitcher.
#2. Puree the 1 cup of fresh strawberries with 1 cup of cold water in a food processor or blender and stir into the fresh lemon juice you have set aside.
#3. Next, combine ½ cup of water and the sugar to a small saucepan. Heat and let simmer for 5 minutes making a simple syrup for your lemonade.
Once the sugar mixture is completely cooled add it to the lemonade and mix well.
*Makes approximately 8 servings.
**If you would prefer to bypass making your own fresh lemonade you could also substitute with a store bought brand such a Simply Lemonade and still add the fresh strawberries. 😉
***Although this is a non-alcoholic beverage and kid-friendly you could also easily add vodka for an adult twist.
