When a family is a military family, they need a little more support than the average family. Oftentimes, there are long hours involved in military life and a spouse can be gone for 6-12 months at a time, sometimes longer. It’s important military families get the support they need. Here are some ideas to get support when you need it, military families.
Let people know how they can help you
At the end of the day, no one can know how to support you if you don’t let them know. When someone asks what they can do to help, don’t just brush them off. Let people know specifically how they can help! You wouldn’t believe how many people want to help your family, they just don’t know how.
Talk about what you’re going through
Military families go through a lot, which is why it’s important to talk about what you’re going through. Talking to family and friends who can relate to you is important. Don’t just hold it all in and pretend like everything is okay! Talking is sure to help things go a little smoother. Talking doesn’t always make things easier, but it does help the process.
Get involved in the community
When you really need support, look to your community. Getting involved in the community is going to help you meet other people who are going through what you’re going through. Volunteer and get involved! When you’re out and about meeting new people, you’re going to get the support you need! There are also community programs in various cities to help military families.

I am a mom to 5 kids, homeschool mom, blogger, social media junkie, Frugalista, Book Worm, and Closet Want-to-be Chef. We are a Roadschool family (homeschooling on the road while traveling fulltime).
I grew up learning ways to save from my mom and grandma. I started my own coupon journey when my first child was born in 2009 and started the blog on 2010 when baby #2 was born to share my tips with everyone who kept asking about how I was getting diapers for $1 a pack!
