Doing laundry for 7 people can surely feel like you're in a never ending annoying cartoon. As soon as you get one person's laundry done, it's time to start someone else's. The laundry is an area that I have to be organized in or else it becomes very stressful. I want to pass on some of my large family laundry tips. Hopefully, these tips will help you as you do laundry for a large amount of people.
Large Family Laundry Tips + Tide Savings
Quick note: Keep reading I'll show you how to save money on your laundry with the Ibotta app.
#1. Separate the Laundry
I have found that separating the laundry by person helps so much. Each person, in our family, has their own laundry basket. When their laundry is dirty, they put it in the basket. This helps keep everyone's laundry separated and helps get the laundry done faster and in an organized manner.
#2. Schedule Laundry Days
If you have 5-10 people in your family, then it's wise to schedule laundry days. This is when you create a laundry schedule. Having a day set aside to do one person's laundry helps cut down on the chaos. You can post the laundry schedule, so everyone knows when their laundry will be done.
#3. Teach Your Kids How to Do Laundry
Laundry doesn't do itself, so you need to be a little creative in this department. When it comes to doing laundry, you should take the time to teach your kids. You'd be surprised at how teachable kids are when it comes to doing tasks like laundry. Even smaller children can help add laundry soap or take clothes out of the washer or dryer.
#4. Find a Laundry Detergent Everyone Loves
I'm a firm believe that laundry is easier when you find a detergent that everyone will love. With a big family, it can be tough to find laundry detergent that works for everyone. I tried for years to find a laundry soap that would make our clothes smell good and actually get them clean. Tide is everything we could ask for in a laundry soap. We always purchase Tide PODS 32-count or larger and/or Tide liquid 92-ounce or larger from Walmart for the best value.

I am a mom to 5 kids, homeschool mom, blogger, social media junkie, Frugalista, Book Worm, and Closet Want-to-be Chef. We are a Roadschool family (homeschooling on the road while traveling fulltime).
I grew up learning ways to save from my mom and grandma. I started my own coupon journey when my first child was born in 2009 and started the blog on 2010 when baby #2 was born to share my tips with everyone who kept asking about how I was getting diapers for $1 a pack!
