The Best Churros Recipe – Sweet Churro Waffles Recipe
Like I said this recipe has become a family favorite and tops this list of our favorite Easy Breakfast Recipes.
What You Need
1 teaspoon salt
4 teaspoons baking powder
2 tablespoons white sugar
2 cups of all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups milk
1/3 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon cinnamon (or more to taste)
For the topping
1 cup of white sugar
1/2 cup cinnamon
1/2 cup of melted butter
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, and sugar and the set it aside. Then combine your topping ingredients and set it aside. Try not to eat it all while you are cooking the waffles! Yeah, I might have done that….
In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and then stir in the milk, butter, and vanilla. Make sure to mix them together well.
Then pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture. Stir it in well until it is all combined.
Now go ahead and also melt your 1/2 cup of butter used to pour over waffles. Next, generously spray your waffle iron with no-stick cooking spray. Don't be stingy this will make your life much easier, trust me!
Now, ladle the batter into the preheated and non-stick sprayed waffle iron. Cook the waffles until golden and crisp (just make sure to cook them all the way!). Once fully cooked immediately brush melted butter on each side of the waffle, and don't be stingy the more butter you use, the more yummy goodness get on the waffle.
Once the waffles are nice and buttered up go ahead and dip each buttered side into your cinnamon/sugar mixture.
Cut up and serve! I suggest serving with our homemade maple syrup and enjoy with your family.
