I love having donuts for breakfast, but I hated having to fry them. Buying donuts at the store can be expensive! Then I was a get-together, and a friend made this baked donut recipe. I love baked donuts and being able to make them allows for so many more flavor combinations. We have even done Chocolate Guinness Baked Donuts for St. Patricks Day. One of my kid's favorites is this bake funfetti donuts recipe!
Baked Donuts Recipe – Baked Funfetti Donuts
For this recipe, you will need a donut pan or a silicone donut mold. I have never used a silicone mold, but there are other that swear by them! I can make a few batches of these and have breakfast set for a few days. They are also great for get togethers!
Ingredients
For Donuts:
2 and 3/4 cup Funfetti Pillsbury Cake Mix, boxed
3/4 cup of buttermilk (no buttermilk? You can make it from milk and vinegar or lemon)
2 large eggs
2 tablespoon melted butter
For Glaze:
1 cup of powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 tablespoon milk (I prefer to use whole milk)
Directions
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Mix cake mix, melted butter, eggs and melted butter, stir until well combined.
Pour mixture to a Ziploc Bag & cut corner for piping. Or Use a Piping bag.
Pipe into a donut pan filling 2/3 of the way (don't cover the center hole)
Bake 8 minutes, or until tops rebound when lightly pressed.
Let donuts cool 3 minutes then remove to a cooling rack.
In a bowl big enough to dip donuts, mix glaze ingredients and stir until smooth.
Dip the tops of each donut in the glaze then let the glaze drip off.
Place donut on wax paper (glaze side up).
Decorate with sprinkles.
Let glaze set then enjoy!
