This isn’t your grandma’s Apple Pie but it is one of my favorite apple recipes! Instead, you get the traditional flavor of apple pie filling wrapped up in a crunchy and delicious shell with these apple pie egg rolls. They are an ideal fall afternoon treat, serve a platter for the big game, or introduce a new treat for your Thanksgiving meal.
Easy Apple Pie Egg Rolls Recipe
Egg roll wrappers are a great vehicle for just about any filling, they fry up wonderfully but have a very mild flavor making them perfect for sweet or savory recipes.
This recipe makes 4 but can easily be cut in half or double to suit your numbers-best served while still warm.

What you need to make Fried Apple Pie Eggrolls:
4 Tbsp. butter
2 medium apples
1 tsp. Apple Pie Spice
½ tsp. Cinnamon
¼ cup homemade brown sugar
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 Tbsp. Flour
pinch of salt
4 egg roll wrappers
oil for frying
How to make Apple Pie Egg Rolls:
Peel and dice apples finely.
Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium-high heat, add apples, salt, cinnamon, brown sugar, and apple pie spice-saute until they begin to soften.
Stir in flour and vanilla cook until mixture thickens, about 1 minute.
Place egg roll wrapper so that one corner points straight up, and the other down ( like a diamond or kite). Scoop 1/4 of the filling onto the center of the wrapper.

Fold the bottom corner up over filling and tuck under, fold in sides- it now looks like an open envelope.
Dip your finger in water and run it along the sides of the final corner that is open then fold the top corner down over your bundle pressing edges down firmly.
Drop egg rolls in hot grease and cook until lightly golden brown, then flip and cook for additional 1-2 minutes.
Remove from heat and place on a paper towel-lined plate to dry.
Serve while still warm.
Serving Ideas:
Top with vanilla ice cream
Add a dollop of whipped cream
Drizzle with caramel
Make a dip from whipped cream, cinnamon, and vanilla

When you take these out of the frying oil, you could also dip them in a sugar/cinnamon mixture as well, just a little extra flavor (and yes, extra calories, but hey, if you’re making these, calories are probably not the most important issue). This looks like an excellent idea, will be trying soon, thanks.

Just made them with homemade pie spice with out the cardamom. Baked at 400 for 5-7 minutes. Paired with vanilla ice cream and powdered sugar. Yum!!!!
