It’s easy to put these decorative pieces together that you can put anywhere around the home in anticipation of Halloween.

Do I have to use Tide and Gain products for this craft?

While you don’t necessarily need to use Tide and Gain products for the craft, the reason it comes in handy is due to the colors of each product. For example, traditional Tide Pods come in an orange container that matches the appearance of a pumpkin, allowing you to use designs to make it look like a jack-o-lantern. The Tide Free and Clear Pods come in a white container that you can use to create a ghost. And, the Gain Flings come in a plastic green container that you can use to create Frankenstein to go with your Halloween Faces Laundry Craft theme.

Should I wash the buckets before using them?

It’s a good idea to wash the buckets before you use them, especially since you’ll add tea lights inside these buckets. You can remove anything from inside them before rinsing them out in the sink with soap and water. Allow them to air dry or use a towel to remove any excess water from both the inside and outside of the buckets before you get started.

Why do I need the Cricut EasyPress Mini?

It’s important to have the Cricut EasyPress Mini when you’re doing this Halloween Faces Laundry Craft because you’ll use it to ensure the creative designs fit smoothly on each bucket and stick well enough to last a long time.

The Supplies Needed to Complete the Craft

If you want to make this craft and decorate your home for Halloween, be sure to have the following supplies ready to use:

Empty Gain Flings Bucket. Remove the label from the bucket before you get started.
Empty Tide Free & Clear Pods Bucket. Peel the label and wipe away any residue with vinegar.
Empty Tide Pods Bucket. Do the same thing with this bucket that you’ll do with the others, removing the label and wiping off any sticky residue from the label.
Cut Files. You’ll need three separate cut files, one for Frankenstein, one for the ghost, and one for the jack-o-lantern.
Tea Lights. Make sure you have enough battery-operated tea lights to add at least three to each bucket.
Black Heat Transfer Vinyl. Use vinyl in black to create the designs that you’ll add to your buckets.

Besides these supplies, it’s also important to have the right equipment, including the Cricut Explore Air 2, a Light Grip Mat, and the Cricut EasyPress Mini. If you don’t have the Cricut Explore Air 2, you can still complete this craft using the Cricut Joy or Cricut Maker.

How to make the Halloween Faces Laundry Craft

Remove the labels from the laundry pod buckets using my DIY Goo Be Gone and then wash and dry completely.

Download the cut file set at the bottom of this post, upload to Cricut Design Space and follow the prompts to cut the shapes from the heat transfer vinyl. Because there is not any text, you do not need to mirror the design, but do remember to put the heat transfer vinyl shiny-side-down onto the light grip mat.

Weed each design and gently position them on the corresponding laundry pod bucket. Frankenstein uses a Gain Pods bucket, Ghost and Jack-o-Lantern use tide buckets

Use the EasyPress Mini to affix the designs onto the front side (the flattest side) of each laundry bucket.

Peel away the transfer sheet from the laundry bucket.

Place tealights into the laundry buckets and enjoy!
