Downgrade your phone
Are you really in need of the newest iPhone that is on the market? If you can afford it, great! However, if you can’t, then it’s time to downgrade your phone. If you have to, get a flip phone or even a house phone. If the point is to make calls, then you don’t need the extras. At least for now, go without the extras.
Get the cheapest plan possible
This is the best way to save on your phone bill. Getting the cheapest plan possible is easy enough. Search around for cell phone providers in your area and go with the cheapest plan possible. As long as it works in your area, this shouldn’t be a big deal.
Avoid a contract
It is possible to have a cell phone and not have a contract these days. If you can somehow get your hands on a non-contract phone, go with it. The reason I say to steer clear of contracts is that if you want out of it, it’s going to cost you an arm and a leg financially. You’re not really saving money if you have to pay $800 to get out of a contract.
Limit the data
I know you have heard this tip before, but limiting your data is really the way to go. It can cost up to $20 extra a month for 2-3-4 extra Gigabits of data, depending on your cell phone carrier. Be smart about the data that you use because this could really help you save on your phone bill.

Go for the unlimited plan
Does anyone not offer an unlimited phone plan anymore? Even if you’re trying to save on your phone bill, I’d say that the unlimited plan is totally worth it. No one likes to keep track of how much they are talking and texting, so it is totally worth paying for this.
Ditch the cell phone
If you really want to save money on your phone bill, maybe it’s time to ditch the cell phone altogether. No one says you NEED a cell phone. By ditching the cell phone, not only are you saving money, but you are also saving your sanity.
Go over your phone bill
What are you paying for? I was paying to use my phone as a hot spot yet I never do. That saved me $10 a month when I took it off my bill!
