What do you put in a sensory bottle?
Anything you want really. Themed sensory bottles are a huge hit during holidays so change them up for each one. Glitter, pom-poms, and beads are always a huge hit.
What is the purpose of sensory bottles?
Sensory bottles are designed to help children with sensory processing disorder or autism. The different textures, colors, and shapes inside the bottle provide visual and tactile stimulation that can help calm and focus a child. They can also be used to help with motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
Is a calming bottle the same as a sensory bottle?
There's actually a bit of overlap between calming bottles and sensory bottles – both can be used to help soothe and relax kids (and adults!) who are feeling anxious or overwhelmed.
Calming bottles tend to be filled with liquid ingredients that have a calming effect, like lavender oil or chamomile. They often also include glitter or other visually-appealing elements that can help to distract and focus the mind. Many people find them helpful for managing stress and anxiety, and they can even be used as a sleep aid.
