Do you consider yourself a bit of a cookie monster? I mean, how could anyone not love cookies! Well, if you love cookies, and love to save money, I have some great news for you! You can save money on delicious, generic brand cookies at both Aldi, and Walmart!

Oreos

If you find joy in the amazing, creamy goodness, sandwiched between two chocolate cookie discs, you may want to head on over to Walmart. There you can pick up a package of their brand, Great Value Twist and Shout chocolate sandwich cookies. They are available in both regular, and double stuffed varieties, and they taste just like Nabisco’s Oreos. Pick up your Oreos but be sure to get enough to make some amazing oreo desserts like these:

Girl Scout Cookies

When you have a hankering for a box of Girl Scout Cookies, you’re out of luck during certain times of the year. Or are you?

As long as you don’t mind sticking with only a few flavors (Samoas, Tag Along, and Thin Mint), you can find Benton brand cookies at your nearest Aldi. These cookies both look and taste like the real deal. And better yet, they can be found year-round, at a very reasonable price!

But in all honesty, the best-tasting store brand pop can be found at your local Walmart. It goes by the name of Dr. Thunder, and as you can guess, is the off-brand version of Dr. Pepper. Though if you are not a fan of Walmart, you can find a similar tasting version, Dr. Topper, at your nearest Dollar General store.

Microwave Popcorn

Word on the internet is Aldi's generic popcorn blows everyone else's out of the water for a fraction of the cost, I'm willing to try it.

Oatmeal

Whether you have a bowl of hot oatmeal every morning for breakfast, or love to whip up batches of chocolate chip oatmeal cookies, chances are that oatmeal is a staple in your household.

Quaker oatmeal is on store shelves nationwide, but it comes with quite the price tag, for just a container of dry oats. But if you live near an HEB store, you may have noticed their own brand of oats. If you haven’t picked it up yet and tried it, you are missing out, and also doing your bank account a disservice! Their oats (both quick and old-fashioned) are just as good, if not better than the original Quaker oats! Grab your oats and make some yummy recipes like any of these:

Frozen Foods

Aldi's frozen chicken nuggets generally sell for about $3.50 for the huge family bag. These are better than Tyson's brand that sells for $6+ for a regular size bag.

Kroger frozen vegetables. Just as good if not better than Green Giant and giant savings for you.

Laundry & More

Not food items but laundry goods are expensive these days. We need to save where ever we can on these, especially with a family of 6.

Laundry Detergents

Fresh smelling clothing is an absolute must, but Downy scent boosters may not always fit in your budget. Fortunately, Target sells similar packages of Up and Up brand laundry scent boosters that are sure to please your senses, and your wallet! You can also save money by making your own laundry detergent, dryer sheets, and Febreze spray.

Kirkland Laundry detergent is very comparable to Tide and will be easier on your bank account.

Dish Soap

Walmart Great Value Dishwasher Soap is on par with Cascade brand for half the cost.

Toilet Paper

Walmart and Kirkland brand toilet paper has been said to be a repackaged Charmin brand. If you love those Charmin bears, give these off-brands a try and see if they save you some money. If you need another option, Sam's brand toilet paper some feel are even better than Charmin.

Trash Bags

I am a stickler on trash bags because I can not stand it when they rip and stuff gets all over everything, however, Sam's Member Mark trash bags real hold up.

Regret, Not!
